White crystal powder.The solubility in water is 2.26% at 13°C,High solubility in hot water.When the aqueous solution is gradually decomposed at 80 °C, ammonia gas is generated.When the solubility in absolute ethanol (C2H5OH) and ether is 13 °C,were 1.26% and 0.01%.Soluble in liquid ammonia, hot water, ethanol, acetone hydrate, dimethylformamide, insoluble in ether, insoluble in benzene and chloroform.Relative density (d254) 1.40. Melting point 209.5 ℃. Stable when dry. Does not burn.Low toxicity, median lethal dose (mice, oral)>4000mg/kg. The maximum allowable concentration in the air is 5mg/m³.

Chemical properties

Using and storage as specified can not be decomposed and avoid touching with oxide.The solubility in absolute ethanol at 13 °C is 1.26% and in water is 2.26%.Easily soluble in hot water, the aqueous solution will slowly decompose to produce ammonia gas when the temperature is above 80 °C.When the crystal of dicyandiamide is heated to the melting point, it will heat up violently immediately after melting to generate melamine, melamine, etc.

Application:

Determines cobalt, nickel, copper and palladium.Organic Synthesis.Nitrocellulose stabilizer.Hardener.Detergent.Vulcanization accelerator.Resin synthesis.

Used as a latent curing agent for epoxy resin adhesives.Formulating one-part epoxy adhesives.Only when the particle size of dicyandiamide is less than or equal to 5μm (2500 mesh), it can form a suspension in the epoxy resin without precipitation.The reference dosage is 4-12 servings, and the used life of 100g epoxy resin composition is 6-12 months.When the dosage of dicyandiamide is 17 servings, the storage period is less than 2 months.When the dosage is 8 servings, the storage period can be as long as half a year.Curing conditions170℃/lh or 180℃/20min.Heat distortion temperature 125℃.Also used as curing agent for one-component waterborne epoxy adhesives.The reference dosage is 7 servings.The compound system of dicyandiamide (5-6 parts) and hydrazide (3-4 parts),It can cure epoxy resin at 120℃/45min.

Storage method

Sealed storage at 2℃~8℃,storage in a ventilated and dry place,avoiding touching with other oxides.During transportation and loading, it should be protected from moisture and handled with care.
Packed in woven bag with plastic inner bag or 5 layers kraft paper bag packing.The mouth of the bag should be tightly sealed and must not leak.The net weight is 25±0.2kg per bag.
